Sending to a printer?

A professional business card makes a lasting first impression - but design software is expensive and time-consuming to learn. Choose from four clean card templates, fill in your name, title, company, and contact details, and watch a live preview update as you type. Download a high-resolution PNG at standard business card dimensions, ready to send to any print shop or use as a digital card.

Template: Bold. Name: David Kim. Title: Owner. Company: Kim's Bakery. Email: hello@kimsbakery.com. Phone: +1 555 876 5432. Accent: warm orange. Prints 200 cards at Vistaprint using the downloaded PNG. Total cost: free tool plus printing.
Common use cases
- Freelancers and consultants who need a card quickly without hiring a designer
- Small business owners attending networking events or trade shows
- Job seekers who want a professional card for career fairs
- Startup founders who need a card before their branding is finalised
- Professionals changing roles and needing an updated card fast
- Anyone who wants a clean, print-ready card without paying for a design tool
Common mistakes
- Cramming too much information on the card - stick to name, title, company, one email, one phone, and one URL. Remove the rest.
- Using a light accent colour on the Modern (dark) template - contrast is important for readability at small sizes.
- Printing directly from the browser at screen resolution - always download the PNG first and send that file to the printer.
- Forgetting to include a website - a URL is often more useful than a physical address for service businesses.
Frequently asked questions
What size is the downloaded business card?
The PNG is exported at 1050 x 600 pixels, which matches the standard business card size of 3.5 x 2 inches at 300 DPI - the minimum resolution most print shops require for sharp results.
Can I use this for digital sharing, not just print?
Yes. The PNG works perfectly as a digital card to attach to emails, add to a LinkedIn profile, or share in messaging apps. For a scannable card, pair it with the QR Code Generator to create a vCard QR code.
What templates are available?
Four templates: Minimal (white, clean typography, subtle accent line), Modern (dark navy background, high contrast), Bold (split design with a strong colour panel), and Classic (white with a coloured header bar). All four are professional and print-ready.
Can I change the accent colour?
Yes. A colour picker lets you set any accent colour. The default is the Practical Tools teal, but you can match your brand colour exactly by entering a HEX code.
Is there a bleed margin for printing?
The downloaded PNG does not include a bleed margin. Most print shops add bleed themselves, or you can add 1-2mm of extra canvas in a tool like Canva or Photoshop before sending to print.
Are my details stored anywhere?
No. Everything stays in your browser. Nothing is sent to a server. Close the tab and the data is gone.
Can I add a logo?
Not yet - logo upload is on the roadmap. For now, the card uses text-based branding. If you need a logo on your card, download the PNG and add it in Canva or Photoshop before sending to print.
