A QR code poster is a QR code designed for display - on a wall, at a table, on a counter, or in a window. Enter the URL, add a short headline and instruction, choose a colour, and generate a print-ready poster. No design software needed.

Example
URL: restaurant.com/menu. Headline: 'Scan to view our menu'. Subtext: 'Updated daily'. Colour: teal background, white QR code. Downloaded as PNG and printed on A6 table tents for each table.
URL: myshop.com/new-arrivals. Headline: 'New arrivals - shop online'. Subtext: 'Free delivery over 50'. White background, dark QR code. Printed as A4 and taped to the inside of the window.
Common use cases
- Restaurants displaying a QR code for the digital menu at each table
- Shops placing a QR code poster in the window linking to their online store
- Events and conferences displaying a QR code to download a programme or schedule
- Businesses displaying a WiFi QR code poster so guests can connect without asking
- Market stall traders linking customers to their online shop or social media page
Common mistakes
- Using a URL that redirects or expires - use a stable, direct URL. Test the QR code after printing by scanning it with a phone.
- Making the QR code too small to scan - for wall posters, the QR code should be at minimum 3cm x 3cm; for table tents, at least 5cm x 5cm.
- Not including a call-to-action text - scanning rates are higher when the poster tells people what they will get by scanning.
Frequently asked questions
What URL should I use for a QR code poster?
Use the most direct URL possible. For a menu, link directly to the menu page, not the homepage. Use a short, clean URL if possible. If the URL changes often (e.g. a Google Drive menu PDF), use a QR code redirect service so you can update the destination without reprinting the poster.
Is the QR code generated on a server?
No. The QR code is generated entirely in your browser using JavaScript. Your URL is not sent to any server.
What resolution should I use for printing?
The PNG download is high resolution - suitable for A4 printing and smaller formats like table tents and A5 flyers. For very large format printing (A1, A0), use an SVG export if available or scale up in a design application.
