Signature Maker

Signature mode

Draw your signature above with a mouse, trackpad, or finger. The background stays transparent.

A signature image is one of those things you only need occasionally, but always urgently - to sign a contract, a form, or a letter without printing and scanning. This tool makes one in seconds. Draw your signature with a mouse, trackpad, or finger, or type your name and pick a signature style. Download it as a transparent PNG and drop it straight into a PDF, a document, or an email. Everything happens in your browser, so your signature is never uploaded.

Example

Signing a PDF contract

Draw your signature, download the transparent PNG, then open your PDF in any editor and place the image on the signature line. Because the background is transparent, it sits cleanly over the document.

A typed signature for letters

Switch to Type, enter your name, and choose the Classic style for a flowing script look. Download the PNG and add it to the bottom of a letter template so every letter carries your signature.

Common use cases

  • Adding a signature to a PDF without printing and scanning
  • Signing contracts, forms, and agreements electronically
  • Putting a signature image at the end of letters and quotes
  • Creating a signature for an email footer or document template
  • Approving documents quickly from a phone or tablet

Common mistakes

  • Saving on a white background - this tool keeps the background transparent so the signature sits cleanly on any document; do not add a white fill.
  • Drawing too small - sign at a comfortable size on the pad; you can scale the PNG down later without losing quality of the lines.
  • Using a typed signature where a hand-drawn one is required - some documents need a genuine drawn or wet signature; check what is accepted.
  • Forgetting to clear between signatures - use Clear before drawing a second, different signature.

Frequently asked questions

Is the signature image transparent?

Yes. The PNG is saved with a transparent background, so when you place it on a document only the ink shows. The checkered pattern on the pad just indicates transparency and is not part of the saved image.

Can I sign with my finger on a phone?

Yes. The pad supports touch, so you can sign with a finger or stylus on a phone or tablet, then download the PNG. This is often easier than signing with a mouse.

Is a typed or drawn signature legally valid?

In many places an electronic signature is valid for everyday agreements, but rules vary by country and document type, and some documents require a witnessed or wet signature. This tool creates the image; whether it is accepted depends on the document and your jurisdiction.

How do I add the signature to a PDF?

Download the PNG, then open your PDF in an editor that lets you insert an image, and place the signature on the signature line. Because it is transparent, it overlays the document cleanly.

Is my signature uploaded or stored?

No. The signature is created entirely in your browser and never sent to a server. Nothing is stored or shared - the image only exists on your device once you download it.

Can I change the colour?

Yes. Use the colour picker to sign in black, blue, or any colour. Blue is common for signatures so they stand out from printed black text.
