Social Media Image Resizer

JPG, PNG, WebP

Every social media platform uses different image dimensions - and using the wrong size means cropped faces, blurry thumbnails, or rejected uploads. Upload your image once, tick the sizes you need, and download a ZIP with every platform-ready version. No cropping surprises, no re-uploads, no design software required.

How to use this tool

  1. 1Upload your image by clicking 'Choose image' or dragging it onto the upload area. JPG, PNG, and WebP are supported.
  2. 2Choose how the image should fit each canvas: 'Cover' fills the frame and may crop the edges, 'Contain' fits the whole image and adds padding, or 'Stretch' forces exact dimensions.
  3. 3Tick the platforms and sizes you need. All are selected by default - untick any you do not need.
  4. 4Click 'Download ZIP' to get all selected sizes as individual PNG files, named by platform and dimensions.

Example

Marketing manager preparing a product launch post

Upload the campaign hero image. Select: Instagram Square (1080x1080), Instagram Story (1080x1920), Facebook Post (1200x630), LinkedIn Post (1200x627), X Post (1600x900). Download ZIP. Five correctly sized images in under 30 seconds.

YouTuber setting up a new channel

Upload a channel art design. Select: YouTube Thumbnail (1280x720) and YouTube Channel Art (2560x1440). Download and upload directly to YouTube Studio without any resizing in a separate editor.

Common use cases

  • Marketing managers preparing one image for posting across multiple social platforms
  • Small business owners who manage their own social channels without a designer
  • Social media schedulers batch-preparing images for a week of content
  • Photographers resizing portfolio images for platform-specific profiles and posts
  • Agencies creating correctly sized assets for client accounts across all platforms
  • Content creators setting up new social profiles and needing all banner and avatar sizes at once

Common mistakes

  • Using a low-resolution source image - if your original is 800px wide, resizing to 1080x1080 will produce a blurry result. Always start with the highest resolution version available.
  • Forgetting that Stories and Reels crop the top and bottom in feed previews - keep key content in the centre third of the frame.
  • Using the same square image for LinkedIn banners - LinkedIn cover images are 1584x396, a very different crop to a post image.
  • Not checking platform updates - social media dimensions change occasionally. These sizes reflect current recommendations as of the last-updated date.

Frequently asked questions

Are my images uploaded to a server?

No. Resizing runs entirely in your browser using the Canvas API. Your images are never sent to any server.

What is the difference between Cover and Contain fit modes?

Cover fills the entire canvas and crops any overflow - the image fills the frame but edges may be cut off. Contain fits the whole image within the canvas and adds a background color in any unused space - nothing is cropped but there may be padding. Stretch forces the image to exactly fill the dimensions, which can distort it if the aspect ratio differs.

What color is the padding when using Contain mode?

White by default. Most platforms display images on a white or light background so this blends in. For dark-background platforms, use Cover mode or start with an image that already matches the target ratio.

Are these the correct sizes for 2026?

These reflect the recommended sizes as of the last-updated date. Social platforms update their specifications occasionally. Always check the platform's official help centre if a specific upload is rejected.

Can I resize animated GIFs?

No. The Canvas API processes static images only. Animated GIFs will be exported as a static PNG of the first frame.

Why are outputs saved as PNG and not JPG?

PNG is lossless and avoids double-compression artefacts. If you need smaller files, run the output through the Image Compressor after downloading.
